Overview
Veoh describes itself as follows:
"Veoh is a Web site that's headed for your TV. It's also the name for a suite of applications for collecting, publishing, and watching a vast selection of HD-quality video programming. Veoh is a diverse, virtual community of indie publishers coming together with their new audiences. And it's also a few offices in Southern California full of entertainment industry insiders, outsiders, and technologists.
This is how we see it. Television sent the old neighborhood cinema audience back to their homes, where they were told what to watch, and when.
Let's set them free again. Bring them back together and give them what they've wanted all along. Veoh gives viewers a limitless marketplace of compelling or informative television programming for wherever and whenever they choose to watch.
Veoh.com and the Veoh Player software (installed on PCs or Macs) combine as a virtual television network that organizes, showcases, and delivers clear, full-screen video programming to anyone with a broadband connection.
Filmmakers, producers, journalists, content owners - players at any level - can become independent publishers on Veoh. Uploaded once, a video project is syndicated everywhere, across nearly every major video-sharing/distribution site on the Web. Publishers may offer their segments anywhere for free or pay-per-view.
About the suits. Veoh Networks, Inc., is privately held and backed by leading technology and media investors, including Spark Capital, Michael Eisner's Tornante Company, Time Warner Inc. and Shelter Capital Partners."
Competitors include Dailymotion, YouTube, Metacafe, Joost and Babelgum.

VeohTV is a "video browser" that allows users to pick content they want to see from around the Internet. Users are required to download software that provides them with a "single interface to search, browse and view all video on the Internet."
VeohTV is different than similar offerings from Joost and Babelgum because users get to choose the content instead of having content served to them.

Ya, I have tried veoh. So far, it sucks completely. Their software is unstable and that is saying it nicely. Downloading, once you get the software to work, can take forever. Once you have a show dl, you can then get an error message telling you to dl a codex in order to view the show you just spent forever downloading. Even though you have the codex indicated, you can still get the same error message over and over. Also, I am a potential consumer looking for better than television fare. So far, veoh does not offer that. They have a youtube "channel". So what? I can go to youtube and already see what I have subscribed to or favorited there. I don't need a duplicate service which is how I view veoh after trying to use for a month or so. Like any other site that allows uploads, most of the vids are infringing on copyrights. This means that just about everything I want to see is up there illegaly. Again, I can go to youtube to see "bootlegs". The troubleshooting section for veoh is a joke. It is more like an advertisement for the site than a real help section. I had troubles getting started and turned to the troubleshooting section, not only to my chagrin, but I wasted alot of time trying to figure things out. You are also directed to the forums for help. I don't know about you, but searching through reams of threads and posts to find a fix is not my idea of time well spent on the internet. The video search feature sucks too. There is no flexibility in searching so you can narrow down your hits. Honestly, the model for this is out there. Does anyone at veoh even know what youtube is? I don't use veoh unless: Someone has posted a playlist of videos I want to see. I have seen links on other site to playlists on veoh which was cool because then I didn't have to search for each vid myself and try to make a playlist. youtube, by the way, has links to playlists. It's a fantastic feature, no? I have emailed veoh many, many times with no answer. When I had an issue with youtube, they answered back WITH a solution in less than 24 hours. I NEVER send money to sites that treat me as invisible or make me feel like there is no real community. A standard has been set, veoh. If you want ppl to PAY for your service, you should at least rise to the basics already all over the internet. I find it hard to understand how a site can be so messed up and have all this corporate money involved. Unless it's meant as a write off or something. Next time give the money to a bunch of teens who love media. I gaurantee you will get better results.

Can you transfer any of the videos to my itunes. and watch them on my ipod?
